Riot On An Empty Street

Riot On An Empty Street - Kings Of Convenience Tabbed by Simon Bance September 2003 Throughout this song I have tried to write the chords for one guitar, but when Eirik is not playing the melody it sounds as if he is playing some bass notes to complete the chord in the bass area. These are really difficult to include in the main chords as it means the chords become very tricky to play - and that is always a sign that you are on the wrong track! :) So I guess Eirik is playing chords underneath Erlend's chords. Sorry but it is really difficult to notate two simultaneous parts so you will have to just use common sense. The actual chords are given below. Tuning; STANDARD Main chords (steel guitar); * |------------|0-----------| |8-----8-----|6-----6-----| |7-----7-----|7-----0-----| |0-----8-----|0-----7-----| |7-----6-----|8-----8-----| |8-----------|6-----------| * = This chord is difficult so here is an easier version (but not such a rich bass sound); |---| |-6-| Eirik is playing Bb major underneath!!! |-7-| |-8-| |---| |---| "It's a dangerous game...." |3-----3-----|------------| |3-----3-----|8-----------| |3-----3-----|7-----------| |1-----3-----|0-----------| x2 |------5-----|7-----------| |------3-----|8-----------| "I've got no cards to play...." |3-----0-----|------------| |3-----3-----|8-----------| |3-----2-----|7-----------| |1-----0-----|0-----------| |------0-----|7-----------| |------3-----|8-----------| "I've got nothing to say..." |3-----0-----|5-----------| |3-----1-----|6-----------| |3-----0-----|7-----------| |1-----3-----|8-----------| |------3-----|------------| Again, Eirik is definitely playing bass notes or a chord. |------1-----|------------| Maybe he is playing X 1 3 3 3 1 (Bb major). OK... so I'll go with my theory. Here are the chords that I think he is playing along with Erlend's; C major ---> Eb Major ---> Bb Major ---> F major And here is the actual guitar melody that Eirik plays; |------|---------------------|-------------------| |------|---------------------|-------------------| |------|---------------------|-------------------| |--5-7-|8757-57-5---5-----5-7|8757-57-5----------| |------|----------8----------|----------5-8------| |------|---------------------|-------------------| You can really play it in any position you want! That's it I think. END!!!
